Missile debris fell in four places in western Saudi Arabia on Saturday 24 October 2026, after two ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi militia in Yemen were intercepted. The Saudi Civil Defense said the missiles were fired towards the Makkah and Madinah regions, and that fragments came down in Makkah, Jeddah, Taif and Rabigh. The statement did not report any casualties.
Where the debris fell
According to the Civil Defense spokesperson, interception fragments landed in these locations:
| City or governorate | Location named by Civil Defense |
|---|---|
| Makkah | Wadi Al-Mughammas |
| Jeddah | Al-Nuzha neighbourhood |
| Taif | Wadi Jalil |
| Rabigh | Masturah centre |
Civil Defense teams in the two regions responded to the reports, and the spokesperson said the approved procedures for such incidents were carried out at each site. The statement did not give details of any damage.

What it means for residents and pilgrims
The statement named no injuries and no wider disruption. It follows a series of interceptions over Saudi cities this month, including the night of 13 October when missile debris injured four people in Riyadh. Interceptions take place high in the air, so fragments can land over a wide area, including valleys and residential districts far from the intended target.
If you live in or are visiting Makkah, Jeddah, Taif or Rabigh, the safest steps are the same as in every recent incident:
- If you see debris, stay away from it. Do not touch, move or film it.
- Report it on 911 (Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh and the Eastern Province) or 999 in other regions.
- When an alert reaches your phone, move indoors to a room away from windows and stay there until the all clear.
- Do not gather at an incident site, and share only official updates, not unverified videos.

If you have a flight from Jeddah in the coming days, check its status with your airline before leaving for the airport. Some carriers have already changed their schedules this month, such as the IndiGo cancellations for Saudi routes.
