Haramain Train Timetable and Frequency
The official timetable is a search tool on the Haramain website: choose your stations and date to see every departure. Stations in Makkah, Madinah and at Jeddah airport open from 6:30 am to 12:30 am, which sets the service window.
Trains run much more often in peak seasons. In Ramadan 2026 the railway ran more than 140 trips a day in the last ten nights, and during Hajj 1447 it carried 1.16 million passengers on 5,569 trips. In Ramadan, school holidays and the Hajj season, book as early as you can. During the Hajj season, residents also need the right permit to enter Makkah, so check this before buying a Makkah ticket.
Umrah Tips: Ihram When Travelling From Madinah
If you travel from Madinah to Makkah for Umrah, your miqat is Dhul Hulayfah (Abyar Ali), according to the Ministry of Hajj’s Umrah guide. The train does not stop there, so put on your ihram at your hotel or at the station before you board, and make your intention before the train passes the miqat. If you fly into Jeddah, you should already be in ihram from your flight’s miqat (see our Miqat locations guide for every route). See also the best times to perform Umrah and the Umrah visa for 1448.
