Saudi Tourist eVisa Now Open to Mexico, Serbia, North Macedonia and Bosnia

Last updated: 5 November 2026

Citizens of Mexico, North Macedonia, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina can now apply for the Saudi tourist eVisa online. Saudi Arabia added the four countries to its electronic tourist visa list on 5 November 2026, which brings the official eVisa list to 72 countries. The visa is a one-year, multiple-entry visa that allows stays of up to 90 days, and it can be used for tourism, events, family visits and Umrah.

Here is what changed, what the visa covers, how to apply, and what the news means if you live in Saudi Arabia and want to invite family or friends from these countries.

Which Four Countries Were Added

  • Mexico (North America)
  • North Macedonia (Europe)
  • Serbia (Europe)
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina (Europe)

The expansion was announced on Thursday, 5 November 2026 and reported by Asharq Al-Awsat and the Saudi Gazette. All four countries now appear on the eligible-countries list of the official Saudi eVisa portal, which states that visitors from 72 eligible countries can apply.

Mexico was already part of the Saudi Visa Package that bundles a visa with travel bookings. The new step gives Mexican citizens the standalone tourist eVisa as well.

How to Apply for the Saudi eVisa

  1. Go to the official portal, visa.visitsaudi.com, and choose Apply Now.
  2. Fill in the application with your passport details.
  3. Pay the visa fee online. The amount, including the required medical insurance, is shown before payment.
  4. Receive your eVisa by email and keep a copy with your passport when you travel.

Use only the official portal. Third-party sites that charge extra service fees are not run by the Saudi government. Health cover is part of every visit visa; our guide to Saudi visit visa medical insurance explains what it covers.

Umrah on the Tourist eVisa

The tourist eVisa allows Umrah but not Hajj. Visitors also need an Umrah permit booked through the Nusuk app before going to the Grand Mosque. For the season dates and rules, see our guide to the 1448 AH Umrah visa.

What This Means for Residents in Saudi Arabia

If you live in Saudi Arabia and have relatives or friends from Mexico, Serbia, North Macedonia or Bosnia and Herzegovina, they no longer need a family visit visa invitation through Absher or an embassy appointment for a short trip. They can apply for the tourist eVisa themselves online. A family visit visa is still the route for nationalities that are not on the eVisa list.

Once a visa is issued, you can confirm its details with a Saudi visa check by passport number.

Other Countries on the Saudi eVisa List

The official list covers 72 countries, including the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, all European Union countries, Switzerland, Norway, Russia, Ukraine, Turkey, China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. It also includes Kosovo and Guyana. If your country is not listed, the portal advises contacting the nearest Saudi embassy.
