Guest Class is what Saudia calls economy. If you have flown the airline before you have already flown Guest Class, the name just trips people up when they read the terms.
What “up to 50 percent” actually means
This is the part worth being clear about, because the headline number and the number on your card are rarely the same.
Promotional fares of this kind discount the base fare. Taxes, carrier-imposed charges and airport fees sit on top and they do not fall by half. On a long-haul sector to Europe or North America, where the base fare is most of the ticket, the saving is substantial. On a short regional hop where fees make up a bigger share, the final price drops by much less than 50 percent.
The second thing is inventory. Airlines release discounted seats into specific fare buckets, and those buckets are finite per flight. Popular dates sell their cheap buckets first. Many expats in Saudi Arabia find that the same route shows a deep cut on a Tuesday in October and almost nothing on the Thursday before a long weekend.
So treat the 50 percent as a ceiling, not a promise. Check your actual dates.
Who should actually check this
The travel window closing on 10 December is the detail that decides whether this is useful to you.
It covers the whole autumn shoulder season, which is when fares to South Asia are normally at their least painful anyway. It does not cover the late December school holidays, and it does not cover the peak fortnight when most families travel home. If your leave is booked for the second half of December, this offer does nothing for you.
It is genuinely worth a look if you are taking annual leave in September, October or November, if you are flying a family member out on a visit visa in that period, or if you are transiting Jeddah or Riyadh to somewhere else and want the fare and the routing in one booking.
Saudia also runs a free 96 hour stopover visa for transit passengers, issued through the airline’s own platform, which permits Umrah, a visit to Madinah and ordinary tourism. That is a standing service rather than part of this promotion, but it pairs naturally with a discounted transit ticket.
The AlFursan detail people miss
The 100 percent Bonus Tier Credits are worth more than they sound. Tier credits are not reward miles. Miles are the currency you spend on award tickets; tier credits are the counter that decides whether you sit at Blue, Silver or Gold next year.
Doubling them on a booking you were going to make anyway is free progress toward status. If you were already within reach of a tier, this window is the cheapest time to close the gap.
Saudia is not the only one discounting
Asharq Al-Awsat reported on 23 August 2026 that Saudi carriers are all competing for the post-summer lull. Financial and economic adviser Dr. Hussein Al-Attas told the paper that “price has become one of the most influential factors in travelers’ decisions.”

Before you book
A cheap ticket you cannot board is not a bargain. Three checks, in this order:

- Passport validity. Many destinations want six months clear. Renewal at a consulate in Saudi Arabia takes time you may not have inside a two-week booking window.
- The fare rules on the screen. Promotional fares usually carry change and refund restrictions. Read them at checkout, not afterwards.
If you are flying to India, the gold and cash limits are separate from the ticket and catch people out every season. Check the current gold allowance from Saudi Arabia to India and the Saudi cash and gold declaration limit of SAR 40,000 before you pack.

For anyone with leave in the September to early December stretch, this is a real saving and the window is short. Booking closes on 3 September, which is nine days from now. Ticket by then or the fare is gone.
