What Is the Wafid (GAMCA) Medical?

Wafid is the Gulf Health Council’s system for the medical examination of people moving to a GCC country for work, family residence or study. It replaced the old GAMCA system, which is why people still search for “GAMCA medical report check”. The examination is done before you travel, at a Wafid-accredited medical centre in your home country or the country where you live; there are about 925 of them listed on wafid.com in 35 countries, including Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, the Philippines, Egypt, Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda.

Saudi embassies and the visa system check your fitness through Wafid, so the result goes into your visa file automatically. The current rules are the 8th version of the Wafid Program Regulations, approved by GCC health ministers in October 2025.

How to Check Your Wafid (GAMCA) Medical Report Online

  1. Open wafid.com and choose Medical Examination Result.
  2. Select By Passport Number.
  3. Enter your passport number and choose your nationality.
  4. Click Check. Your result appears once the medical centre has uploaded it.

You can also search with your Wafid slip number instead of your passport. If the result is not showing yet, wait: the centre has 3 days from your examination to issue it.

Check That the Medical Is Linked to Your Saudi Visa

Once your employer or agent applies for your visa, the medical result also appears in your visa file. On the KSA Visa platform, “Track Application” with your application or visa number and passport number shows a Medical Certificate Status of Passed or Not Passed. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs visa site also has a “check medical certificate issuance” service that uses your application number and passport number.

How to Book a Wafid Medical Appointment

  1. Go to wafid.com yourself (type the address, do not click on adverts) and choose Book an Appointment.
  2. Select your country, your city and Saudi Arabia as the country travelling to.
  3. Choose the appointment type: Standard or Premium.
  4. Enter your details exactly as in your passport, your visa type (work, family or study), email, phone and national ID number.
  5. Verify the code sent to you, accept the declaration and pay by card.
  6. Download and print your Wafid slip, then go to the medical centre on the given date.

Wafid Medical Fee 2026

There are two separate costs:

  • Wafid booking fee: USD 10 (Standard) or USD 25 (Premium), paid online by card to Wafid. It is not refundable.
  • Medical examination fee: paid at the medical centre. The Gulf Health Council does not set this fee, so it varies by country and centre. Ask the centre for the price before you go.

Agents often sell a “GAMCA token” for much more than USD 10. That is an agent’s service charge, not an official fee. You can book directly on wafid.com yourself.

How to Reprint Your Wafid Slip

Lost your slip? Open Appointment Slips on wafid.com, enter your passport number and nationality, and click Search to print it again.

Documents to Take to the Medical Centre

  • Your passport (original)
  • Your printed Wafid slip
  • Your national ID card
  • Any written vaccination records you have

The centre takes your fingerprints and photo at reception and again during the tests, to make sure the person tested is the person travelling.

Which Tests Are Done in the Wafid Medical?

Under the Gulf Health Council’s 2026 technical rules, the examination includes:

  • Medical history and a general check-up: weight, height, blood pressure, heart rate, eyesight and colour vision, and a check of the heart, lungs, abdomen, skin and nervous system, including a mental status check.
  • Blood tests: full blood count, blood sugar, kidney and liver function, malaria and filaria, and tests for HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C and syphilis.
  • Urine test and a chest X-ray.
  • For women: a pregnancy check and a breast examination.
  • Vaccinations: MMR, meningococcal ACWY, polio and Tdap are required for GCC residency visas; if you have no proof, the centre gives them.

How Long the Result Takes and How Long It Is Valid

  • Result: the accredited centre must issue the fitness certificate within 3 days of the examination.
  • Validity: the medical certificate is valid for 2 months from its issue date. Wafid counts expiry from the date the report was last modified.
  • Booking again: if you already have a valid report in the system, you can book a new examination 2 months after the report date.

Unfit in the Wafid Medical: What It Means

You are declared unfit if the examination finds a condition listed in the Gulf Health Council rules, including:

  • Infections: HIV, hepatitis B, hepatitis C, active tuberculosis or signs of past TB on the X-ray, leprosy and filaria.
  • Other conditions: kidney failure, liver failure, heart failure, uncontrolled high blood pressure or diabetes that has damaged other organs, cancer, serious psychiatric or neurological illness, disability that prevents the work, and very low haemoglobin.

If you think the result is wrong, you can submit a written objection to the Gulf Health Council; its decision is final. Do not pay anyone for a “fit” report: Saudi Arabia re-examines workers after they arrive, and centres that pass unfit workers are fined or suspended.

Fake Wafid Websites and Agents

  • The only official site is wafid.com, run by the Gulf Health Council. Many look-alike sites use “GAMCA” or “Wafid” in their names.
  • The only official online fees are USD 10 and USD 25.
  • Check that your medical centre appears in the Medical Centers List on wafid.com, which shows each centre’s address, phone and working hours.

Wafid in 2026: What Changed

The 2026 rules added stricter identity checks at medical centres, a full list of tests and unfit conditions, and penalties for centres whose “fit” workers are found unfit after arrival. Wafid now also offers a Premium appointment, which lets you choose your centre. In the Philippines, the Saudi embassy made Wafid registration mandatory for all Saudi work applicants from 17 September 2026, according to Filipino community news, and the Department of Migrant Workers has raised concerns about centres being assigned automatically.

After the Medical: Next Steps

Once your medical is fit and your visa is issued, the next costs come after you arrive: your Iqama fees and the Maktab Amal (work permit) fee. Still looking for a job? Frequently Asked Questions

Are GAMCA and Wafid the same?

Yes. GAMCA was the old name of the GCC medical examination system. It now runs as Wafid on wafid.com, managed by the Gulf Health Council. GAMCA slips and reports are now Wafid slips and reports.

How can I check my Wafid (GAMCA) medical report online?

Go to wafid.com, open Medical Examination Result, choose “By Passport Number”, enter your passport number and nationality, and click Check. You can also search with your Wafid slip number.

How much is the Wafid medical fee in 2026?

The official Wafid booking fee is USD 10 for a Standard appointment or USD 25 for a Premium appointment where you choose the centre and date. The medical examination itself is charged separately by the medical centre, and the Gulf Health Council does not set that fee.

How long does the Wafid result take?

Under the Gulf Health Council’s 2026 rules, the medical centre must issue the result within 3 days of the examination. Once it is uploaded, you can see it on wafid.com.

How long is a Wafid medical report valid?

A Wafid medical certificate is valid for 2 months from the date it is issued. If your visa is not processed within that time, you will need a new examination.

Can I choose my Wafid medical centre?

With a Premium appointment (USD 25) you choose the medical centre and date. With a Standard appointment (USD 10) the centre and date are assigned for you based on availability.

What happens if I am unfit in the Wafid medical?

An unfit result stops the work visa. You can object in writing to the Gulf Health Council, whose decision is final. Saudi Arabia also re-examines workers after arrival, so a wrong “fit” report does not protect you.

Is the Wafid booking fee refundable?

No. Under the Wafid financial rules, booking fees are paid in advance and are not refunded.
