Umrah Cost from Pakistan 2026: Visa Fee, Flights, Hotels and Total Budget in PKR

Last updated: 20 October 2026

The Umrah cost from Pakistan in 2026 starts at about PKR 255,000 per person for a budget 15-day trip and is around PKR 455,000 to 610,000 for a comfortable 4-star trip near the Haram. The official Saudi Umrah visa fee is about SAR 300 (roughly PKR 22,200), but you pay it through a licensed operator as part of a package with insurance and transport. All rupee figures below use SAR 1 = PKR 74, the mid-market rate on 20 October 2026; check today’s rate with our SAR to PKR converter.

Many Pakistani families save for years for Umrah and then lose money to the wrong agent, a missed vaccine rule or Ramadan prices they did not expect. This guide breaks the cost into each part, shows what is official and what is an estimate, and lists the 2026 to 2027 season deadlines.

How we built this: off-peak dates (November 2026 to January 2027), 14 nights split 8 in Makkah and 6 in Madinah. Budget means four people sharing a room in a hotel 2 to 7 km from the Haram with a shuttle; standard means three sharing a 4-star hotel 400 to 800 m away; premium means two sharing a 5-star front-row hotel. Hotel and flight prices are dated estimates from booking sites and travel reports in 2026, not official prices. Group packages from operators are often cheaper than booking each part yourself, because they buy hotel rooms in bulk.

Visa Fee for Umrah from Pakistan

According to the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah FAQ, the Umrah visa fee for pilgrims from outside Saudi Arabia is about SAR 300, roughly PKR 22,200. The ministry also says an external agent cannot issue an Umrah visa without a service package that includes at least accommodation and transport. That is why you will rarely see the visa sold on its own.

What Pakistani travellers actually pay depends on what the operator bundles:

  • Visa plus insurance plus transport: travel agents quoted about PKR 45,000 to 65,000 in 2026, depending on the length of stay. The Saudi medical insurance is mandatory and is reported at about SAR 100 to 180 depending on age.
  • Full package: visa, flights, hotels and transport together. Advertised 7-day economy packages started from about PKR 285,000 in 2026.

Once the visa is issued, you must enter Saudi Arabia within 30 days, and you can stay up to 90 days, but never beyond the end of the season. The visa cannot be extended into the Hajj season.

Can Pakistanis use the Saudi tourist e-visa for Umrah?

Only in some cases. Pakistan is not on the list of countries that get the Saudi tourist e-visa automatically. Pakistanis who hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa that they have already used, or who live in those countries, can usually apply for it, and the tourist visa can be used for Umrah outside the Hajj season after booking a permit on Nusuk. Reported fees range from about SAR 480 to 535 including insurance. Check eligibility on the official Visit Saudi visa portal before you pay.

If you have family working in the Kingdom, a family visit visa also lets you perform Umrah with a Nusuk permit.

Flight Cost from Pakistan to Jeddah and Madinah

Return economy tickets from Karachi, Lahore or Islamabad to Jeddah or Madinah were around PKR 100,000 to 150,000 outside peak periods in 2026. Direct flights cost more than one-stop flights through the Gulf. During Ramadan, reports in February 2026 put economy return fares at PKR 180,000 to 200,000 and business class at up to PKR 500,000.

  • Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for off-peak dates, and earlier for Ramadan and school holidays in December.
  • Flying into Madinah and out of Jeddah (or the reverse) saves one long road trip.
  • Check the Zamzam and baggage allowance on your airline, and the power bank rules on Saudi flights before you pack.

Hotel Cost in Makkah and Madinah

Hotels are the biggest difference between a budget and a premium Umrah. Typical room prices per night in 2026, outside Ramadan:

Hotel typeMakkah, per room per nightMadinah, per room per night
Budget, 2 to 7 km with shuttle (Makkah) or 5 to 10 minutes walk (Madinah)SAR 225 to 250SAR 150 to 225
4-star, 400 to 800 m from the HaramSAR 500 to 640SAR 450 to 650
5-star, front rowSAR 825 to 1,630SAR 530 to 1,275

Divide the room price by the number of people sharing. During Ramadan, and especially the last ten nights, hotel prices are typically two to four times higher. Families with elderly parents usually save more by choosing a closer hotel for fewer nights than a far one for many nights, because the shuttle waits add up five times a day. Transport, Food and Ziyarat Costs

  • Transport: bus transfers between Jeddah, Makkah and Madinah are usually included in the operator package. The Haramain train is faster: indicative one-way economy fares are about SAR 40 to 46 from Jeddah to Makkah and SAR 150 to 225 from Makkah to Madinah, with discounts for children.
  • Food: about SAR 30 to 50 a day if you eat at bakeries and Pakistani restaurants in Aziziyah and Misfalah, SAR 60 to 90 for regular restaurants, and more for hotel buffets.
  • Ziyarat: group bus tours cost about SAR 20 to 50 per person in each city; a private car is about SAR 150 to 300. See the places to visit in Makkah.

Vaccines and Health Rules for Pakistani Pilgrims

These rules are not optional, and missing them can stop you at the airport. According to the Saudi Ministry of Health Umrah health requirements:

  • Meningitis ACYW: required for all pilgrims, at least 10 days before arrival (conjugate vaccine valid 5 years, polysaccharide 3 years).
  • Polio: every traveller arriving from Pakistan, of any age, must have at least one dose of oral (bOPV) or injectable (IPV) polio vaccine before travel. The ministry recommends it within the last 6 to 12 months and at least 4 weeks before arrival.
  • Pakistan side: since 15 September 2026, only NADRA-linked digital vaccination certificates are accepted for Hajj and Umrah departures, as reported by Arab News Pakistan. Old paper cards are not enough.

Women, Children and Elderly Pilgrims

  • Women: the ministry FAQ says women may perform Umrah without a mahram. Some operators still ask for group travel or family documents, so confirm before paying.
  • Children: the minimum age for an Umrah visa or permit is 5 years, according to the ministry FAQ.
  • Rawdah visit: praying in Al-Rawdah in Madinah needs a free permit on Nusuk, and visits must be at least 30 days apart.
  • Ihram and miqat: if you fly to Jeddah, you pass the miqat in the air, so wear ihram before boarding or as the crew announces. See our guide to the miqat locations.

How to Avoid Umrah Fraud in Pakistan

In July 2026 Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs said only approved companies may provide Umrah services, and that complaints are accepted only against approved firms. Before you pay:

  1. Check that the operator is on the attested Umrah tour operators list on the Ministry of Religious Affairs website.
  2. Pay into the company’s bank account, not cash to an individual, and keep the receipt and written contract.
  3. Get the hotel names, distance from the Haram and number of people per room in writing.
  4. Once the visa is issued, check it yourself on the official Saudi platform. Our guide to Saudi visa check by passport number works for Umrah visas too.

If something goes wrong while you are in Saudi Arabia, the Pakistan Consulate in Jeddah can help with lost passports and emergencies.

How to Save Money on Umrah from Pakistan

  • Go between November and January, avoiding the December school holidays, when hotels are cheapest.
  • Share a room with family: quad sharing cuts hotel costs per person by about half compared with double rooms.
  • Choose a hotel with a reliable 24-hour shuttle if you are fit, and spend the savings on a closer hotel in Madinah, where walking distance matters more.
  • Compare at least three approved operators for the same hotels and dates.
  • Exchange money in Pakistan or use a card with low foreign fees; check our SAR to PKR rate before you exchange.
